What Price Safety?
When David received the phone call that told him his son was hurt, in hospital, and on life support he couldn’t function. His 17-year-old boy had been attacked just 50 meters from their Auckland home.
The charity Crimestoppers is asking you to put a value on preventing crime in our communities.
They are asking you to consider swapping something you don’t need – like unwanted share parcels – for something you want …safer communities for your family. Simple as that. And you can get a 100% tax deductible receipt for your efforts.
Crimestoppers receive over 50 calls every day from Kiwis who want to prevent crime, generally calling the anonymous line to share their concerns about something that doesn’t seem right to them. And by doing so, these callers are actively contributing towards reducing the number of crime victims we have each year.
If you hold share parcels, you can call Computershare -Auckland 488 8777 or Link Auckland 375 5998 to check your FIN and CSN numbers, and then go to www.sharesforgood.com and in 2 minutes you can donate shares on line, before May 31st.
JBWere are donating their time in transacting all donations.
Your donations will go towards ensuring Crimestoppers can continue to provide its 24/7 anonymous call line service.
Recent Police Commissioner, Peter Marshall, said “Crimestoppers has become a really important channel of information for Police. It is most unlikely that Police would have received any of that information without Crimestoppers support and New Zealanders are less likely to be victims when information about behaviour is provided quickly. Crimestoppers is making a real contribution to both crime prevention and reduced victimisation goals of Police”.
