Equidays 2014 announces top international talent
Organisers of Equidays are thrilled to announce the start of this year’s line up with two international clinicians; Bernie Traurig and Warwick Schiller.
Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) Chief Executive Jim Ellis says, “Equidays has established itself as a key part of the equestrian calendar and the attendance of such internationally renowned coaches as Bernie Traurig and Warwick Schiller in 2014 will further cement its place as a must-see event”.
Multi-talented US rider and coach Bernie Traurig, will be heading to New Zealand in October to join a diverse range of accomplished equine professionals and clinicians at Equidays.
As a competitor, Bernie represented the United States Equestrian Team on many occasions and reached the top of the sport in all three of the International Equestrian Olympic disciplines: Show Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing. As a Horseman, Bernie is renowned for not only his riding talents but for his legendary teaching and coaching skills.
After amassing over 50 years’ worth of techniques and experiences with thousands of horses, Bernie is driven to give back to the sport that has given him so much fulfilment and success, and is looking forward to Equidays where he will be giving Show Hunter and Jumping clinics.
Also travelling to New Zealand and Equidays later this year will be renowned US based rider and horse trainer Warwick Schiller.
A life-long rider, Australian Warwick Schiller moved to the United States to pursue his dream of training horses. With a passion for reining he went on to become an NRHA (National Reining Horse Association) Reserve World Champion.
Warwick has a unique gift for explaining how he helps solve horse problems, and has rightfully secured a reputation as a truly outstanding clinician with his good natured antics and ability to engage the audience. He now conducts many popular horsemanship and reining clinics around the world and says he is extremely excited to be participating in Equidays this October.
“I am looking forward to taking several reining and performance horsemanship clinics over the three day event and making some positive changes with the horses and riders," he said.
Preparations at Mystery Creek Events Centre are now well underway for Equidays, the annual multi-discipline equine event that should be on the “to-do” list of every New Zealand horse lover. Organisers and owners of the event, the NZ National Fieldays® Society, are thrilled with the ongoing support from the wider equine industry, and are keen to build on the success of event since the inaugural Equidays in 2011.
2014 growth brings an even greater variety of equine elements, exciting entertainment and new features such as a dedicated Western Arena with retail area, an increased international presence and an eventing element for all those that love the action and thrill of the cross country.
Many of the event’s 160 retail sites have been being readily snapped up by the likes of: Hygain; Coprice; Tru-Test Group; Southern Trailers; Canterbury Equestrian; Horselands; Thoroughbred Floats; Equitrek; Equissage Therapy; Prydes EasiFeed; and International Animal Health Products, just to name a few.
There are two exciting Equine Evening Shows on offer in a large indoor arena and with three full days of clinics and demonstrations, there is something for everyone at Equidays!
