Blake Leadership Awards to celebrate 10 years of inspiring Kiwi leaders
Last chance to nominate for New Zealand’s most prestigious leadership awards
New Zealand’s most prestigious leadership awards will mark their 10th year of celebrating great Kiwi leaders at a
glittering awards ceremony at Auckland’s Shed 10 in June.
New Zealanders wishing to enter a nomination for the Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards are encouraged to get their
submissions in quickly though, with just over one week to go until nominations close on Friday, March 14.
The Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards recognise six of New Zealand's top leaders, aged between 25 and 45, who are often
up and coming or emerging leaders. After receiving a Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award they are welcomed into an
unrivalled network of New Zealand’s most exceptional business, sporting, arts and community-focused talents to help them
continue their journeys to become top New Zealand leaders. Past Sir Peter Blake Leadership Award winners have included
All Blacks Captain Richie McCaw, KidsCan CEO Julie Chapman, Northland GP and New Zealander of the Year Lance O’Sullivan
and entrepreneur Derek Handley.
Rachel Taulelei, CEO and Founder of sustainable seafood distributor Yellow Brick Rd, received a Sir Peter Blake
Leadership Award in 2012 and says of winning the award:
“As a Blake Leader you’re given a tap on the shoulder tantamount to, “we like what you have done so far but we think you
can do more, ”and with that faith, and a gentle nudge, you do,” she says.
“The Sir Peter Blake Trust is invested in our future and they do some incredible work with young leaders, an area that I
am also extremely passionate about. So it’s a privilege to be part of this amazing organisation and a network of leaders
who are committed to achieving great things for New Zealand,” adds Ms Taulelei.
Sir Peter Blake Trust CEO Shelley Campbell and a winner of a Leadership Award in 2007 says:

and a will to succeed. Blake Leaders should also have the ability to build and lead successful teams, show integrity and
empower their teammates to help achieve their goals.
“While Blake Leaders are usually aged between 25-45 years old, outstanding nominations outside this range may also be
accepted,” adds Ms Campbell.
Nomination forms are available online now at www.sirpeterblaketrust.org until March 14, 2014. Up to six Leadership
Awards are presented alongside The Blake Medal, which recognises a New Zealander who has made an outstanding
contribution to the country.
