Happy Childrens Day from Barnardos New Zealand
Happy Childrens Day from Barnardos New Zealand
This Sunday (2 March) is Children’s Day, with the theme ‘Treasure our Children’. Barnardos believes all children should be treasured, and this informs the services we provide for thousands of New Zealand children and their families/whānau every year.
Chief Executive Jeff Sanders said, “Children’s Day is a great opportunity to do something special for the children in your life and show them how valued they are. Spend time with them, give them a treat, do something fun – maybe head to one of the Children’s Day events around the country. At Barnardos, we work to make Aotearoa New Zealand the best place to be a child, and Children’s Day is an important reminder of how precious our smallest citizens are and how they need to be nurtured, valued and respected.”
To celebrate Children’s Day, Barnardos got Si-Fi, a 16-year-old duo from Taradale High School in Napier, to write a special song. The video was shot at the Barnardos KidStart Childcare Early Learning Centre in Hastings, and the children really got into it! You can watch the video here:
