Rotorua Writing and Book Fiesta
15 March 2014 [10 am – 3 pm]
at the Rotorua Arts Village
(cnr. Hinemoa & Hinemaru Streets)
Anyone with an interest in the world of writers and readers is invited to the Rotorua Writing and Book Fiesta.
This event will be held on 15 March 2013 and includes what is essentially a celebration of local writers, publishers and readers. If that’s you, come along.
The Rotorua Writing and Book Fiesta is being organised by Mike Smith of BMS Books, an independent Rotorua book publisher and sponsor of local writing competitions. He invites anyone who has published a book or is involved in the local writing scene to come along.
The morning of 15 March will see participants in the writing and publishing business showcasing their work from 10 am until noon.  During this time, an open discussion and questions from the floor will help attendees to gain an insight into the world of writing and publishing.
A two-hour workshop on ‘How to be an Author’ will be held in the afternoon from 1 pm to 3 pm. Participants will be set a number of tasks and encouraged to bring along samples of their own writing to discuss with Mike Smith and Marj Griffiths, a professional copy editor and president of the Rotorua Writers Group.
Entry to the fiesta and workshop is free, although donations are appreciated to help defray costs.
Registration is essential for the workshop.
