Prime Minister John Key confirmed to make appearance at NZ Open

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key has confirmed that he will take part in the New Zealand Open to be held at The Hills and Millbrook Resort this week from February 27 to March 2.

Tournament organisers today (February 26 2014) announced that a Celebrity Group would be added to the field to play in the final round at The Hills on Sunday 2 March.

Iconic kiwi golfer Sir Bob Charles, Prime Minister Key and a third, yet-to-be-named celebrity player will wow the crowds for a non-competition round to be played concurrently with the NZ Open. The third celebrity player will be announced on Friday 28 February after the 36 hole ProAm cut has been made.

Tournament Chairman John Hart said it was an honour that the Prime Minister would once again be attending the tournament and a participant in the celebrity trio on the final day.

"We are delighted that the Prime Minister will be attending the New Zealand Open and we are excited to see him play alongside Sir Bob during the final round."

The celebrity trio will commence playing at approximately 10am on Sunday 2 March.
