Just one week until the first Targa Event of the year

Just one week until the first Targa Event of the year, the Ecolight Targa Sprint.
We are expecting roughly 60 entries, as they just keep on coming.  It’s not too late, so get your entries in now, closing is this Wednesday 26th February and the seeding list will be published on Thursday.
This new format is something special that is not to be missed. It caters for a variety of options such as changing co-drivers or taking friends/sponsors for a run to testing tyres and suspension set up in readiness for the longer Targa NZ events later in the year. The roads are awesome and are close to Pukekohe Township so plenty of spectating opportunities. New to this event is the last minute introduction of "Neil Allports Safety Notes". These will be given to all competitors free of charge so you can see how they work. This does not mean that we will be introducing them to other Targa NZ events, it is just another option for you to see if your co-driver is up to the challenge. This is an ideal way to have a go as you will get multiple runs over the same roads and gain
Ecolight Targa Sprint Details:
Please ensure you have read the Regulations as the license criteria for the Tour and competitors is different for this event. Competitors must be at the stadium on Saturday night to park their cars in Parc Ferme overnight and complete documentation and a scrutinerring audit. ALL CARS MUST BE PRE EVENT SCRUTINEERED. There is a list of scrutineers on the website. At this stage there are only 20 cars that have provided the scrutineer with their paperwork, so those who haven't done so please get it done this week. Documentation starts at 5pm and the reconnosance run will start7:30pm. There are a number of bars and restaurants near the stadium, some offering Targa deals, so fill in time by enjoying a nice dinner.  Two function tickets are covered in your entry to the prize giving dinner on Sunday evening from 5pm, if you require any further tickets then please complete the functions form on the website.  All livery will be given out on the day, if you have existing TARGA livery on your car this is suitable. Kids in Cars will be at the Ecolight Stadium in Pukekohe from 9am to 4pm with bouncy castles, colouring in competitions, food, face painting and entertainment for the whole family. Cars will be serving in the Parc Ferme all day so set up camp for the day at the stadium and enjoy the entertainment with the whole family. Spectator points are on our website and this event is a great chance to be able to watch some stages without having to travel great distances.  Kids in Cars will be having a colouring in competition available for all the local schools, complete this and go In the draw to win a family pass to the 2014 V8 Supercars ITM 500,at the Pukekohe Race track 24th-27th of April, and an assortment of Targa Merchandise, this prize is to the value of $1000.  This generous prize has been donated to us by Rob Bray from Euroline Autoparts in Drury. Awards Evening:
This will be held on Friday the 14th of March at the Rendezvous Hotel, 71 Mayoral Drive Auckland City. Tickets cost $110 per person or $1000 for a table of 10. We are limiting the numbers to 200 so if you haven't got your ticket yet please contact Rachel at the Targa office, it will be a night to remember.
This is a 4.5 star hotel in the heart of Auckland central and the evening will consist of a fabulous three course meal, guest speaker and entertainment. A great way to catch up with your Targa friends without the stress that comes while on event. We have Andrew Dewhurst as our MC and he is always good for a laugh.
The 2013 Series Campione awards will be presented. So let’s get together to celebrate the success of the 2013 Targa New Zealand Scantion Series winners.
This event is also to support our Charity, Kids in Cars and their incredible efforts at helping kids in our community living with life threatening illness.  Please help us by donating charity auctions items for this event, be it a weekend away in your batch to a Dyson Vacuum or motorsport memorabilia, there is something for everyone so please make sure you come with the right attitude.
