Surprising the residents of Northland town Kaikohe with a Winter Wonderland created by set designers who worked onThe Chronicles ofNarnia films is the first big dream brought to life inCadbury Dream Factory, premiering tonight (Thursday 20 February) at 7.30pm on TV3.
It’s all thanks to single mum, Alex Baker, whose dream was that her five children experience snow for the first time. Along with thousands of other Kiwis, she submitted her dream to Cadbury atcadburydreams.co.nz, and TV3 producers chose it for the television series.
Created by TV3 in partnership with Cadbury, the series brings magic into the lives of everyday Kiwis, bringing their dreams to life in extraordinary ways, and showcasing the creativity and generosity of all those involved in what promises to be the most joyful and engaging show of 2014.
MediaWorks TV Director of Sales and Marketing, Liz Fraser says:  “This is one of the most inspiring programme partnerships we’ve created.  ‘Bringing dreams to life’ has a powerful connection for both TV3 and Cadbury, and the commitment and vision of the team at Cadbury has made this a dream project for us.
“TV3 is enormously proud of the television series, but it’s only one part of the innovative activity that both brands have undertaken to express this vision; from the Cadbury Dreams campaign, which Cadbury ran for several months rewarding Kiwis who shared their dreams online, to TV3’s random acts of joy, where people were surprised and delighted withCadbury Dream Factory-branded treats such as family movie vouchers.”
Cadbury New Zealand Managing Director, Alastair de Raadt says:  “Cadbury Dream Factory is a truly inspirational and unique series. We are really excited to see it come to life and to showcase some incredible dreams of New Zealand people.
“Cadbury is proud to work with TV3 to bring these remarkable dreams to life and to encourage all Kiwis to dream.  The more we dream, the more positive and joyful we are.”
MediaWorks TV Head of Commissioning, Sue Woodfield says the series is something truly special.
“I can’t wait to share these extraordinary life-changing moments with the rest of the country when the series premieres, starting with tonight’s truly magical creation of a Winter Wonderland in Kaikohe,” she says.
“I literally laugh and cry watching every episode.”
