TVNZ LANDS THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY: THE ITM FISHING SHOW RETURNS TO TV ONE
The ITM Fishing Show is coming home to TV ONE.
TVNZ has secured the rights for the much loved show, which began life on TV ONE but has spent the last six years on TV3.
The show’s creator and presenter, Matt Watson, says after some years of working on international shows he now wants to re-focus on what the show does best, which is making a Kiwi fishing show for Kiwis: “I feel that TV ONE has the best reach into suburban, rural and regional New Zealand where we have our strongest following. If you want to see the Kiwi outdoors and real Kiwi characters TV ONE is where you go.”
TVNZ’s Head of Television, Jeff Latch says: “We’re delighted to have the ITM Fishing Show back on TV ONE. Matt and his team produce a great show which will slot perfectly into our strong local programme lineup over the weekend.”
TVNZ has signed a multi-year deal for the show and will put it to air later this year in a Saturday afternoon slot.
ITM will continue to be the principle sponsor of the show for the tenth consecutive year. General Manager- Marketing and Operations for ITM, Paul Taylor, is pleased with the move, "The show has had great support around New Zealand and bringing it back to ONE will further cement The ITM Fishing Show as an iconic kiwi brand".
