What’s New at Treble Cone for Winter 2014?
[Media Release]
Treble Cone (Wanaka, New Zealand) is the South Island’s largest ski area and boasts the longest vertical in the Queenstown and Wanaka region. Treble Cone offers fun natural terrain and a real New Zealand ski and snowboard experience. The mountain is made up of long groomed trails, rolling off-piste terrain, a reputation for the Southern Hemisphere’s best powder, and spectacular views over Lake Wanaka and the snow-capped Southern Alps.
New for winter 2014, Treble Cone is excited to announce a number of exciting changes to further enhance the skier and snowboarder experience on the mountain;
• High Street Extension Earthworks
• Jazz Kids Fun Trail Extension
• 2 x New PistenBully 400 Winch Groomers
• Multi-Day OnePassNZ Lift Pass Savings
To make it easier and more enjoyable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders returning to the Home Basin from the Saddle Basin, Treble Cone is undertaking earthworks to extend the High Street trail, the new extension will provide a new alignment and a longer, wider, gentler gradient.
Following the popularity of the Jazz Kids Fun Trail which was introduced to the Home Basin in 2013 Treble Cone is extending the Jazz Kids Fun Trail even further for 2014, adding more mini rollers and small kid’s jumps to make the experience longer and even more of a highlight for children.
For winter 2014 Treble Cone will receive two brand new, state-of-the-art, big shiny red PistenBully 400 grooming machines made in Germany by Kassbohrer, both fitted as winch groomers allowing them to cover more of Treble Cone’s terrain and lay perfect corduroy nightly on the ski areas beginner, intermediate and advanced trails, producing a greater on-piste experience for guests.
Treble Cone and OnePassNZ have introduced genuine multi-day savings on lift passes, and lift and rental packages, in addition to Treble Cone continuing to offer unique family lift passes. Treble Cone does not charge credit card transaction fees to customers, or require the additional purchase of an RFID card in order to buy lift passes or access multi-day savings. Treble Cone passes and products can be purchased online, in Wanaka, or up on the mountain.
