Creative New Zealand music scholarships open now
Calling all musicians: Creative New Zealand is offering four different music scholarships this year, worth up to
$61,000.
Applications for these scholarships are due on 28 February 2014.
The Edwin Carr Foundation Scholarship
Open to New Zealand composers wanting to further their studies overseas. Up to $25,000 is available from the fund to
support one or two composers per year.
The Butland/Creative New Zealand Music Scholarship
Up to $10,000 is available to provide talented young musicians with opportunities to further their performance studies
overseas. Applicants must have completed as a minimum: a university degree, diploma and/or LTCL or LRSM qualification
related to their proposed musical studies.
New Zealand/Aotearoa Music Scholarship
To enable young musicians to undertake study or gain further musical experience at a tertiary institution in NZ or
overseas. Up to $16,000 is available to support up to two 12-month scholarships each year.
The Jack McGill Music Scholarship
Young musicians wanting to further their music studies overseas are invited to apply. While the scholarship is open to
all instrumentalists and singers, priority will be given to pianists. Up to $10,000 is available. Applicants must have
completed as a minimum: a university degree, diploma and/or LTCL or LRSM qualification related to their proposed musical
studies.
