In Conversation with Helen Bowden (AUS)
EVENT: 25 FEBRUARY 2014
Join us for our first Writer’s Room of the year as producer Philippa Campbell (Top of the Lake, Rain) talks to kiwi-born producer Helen Bowden (Matchbox Pictures) about her experience developing high-end television drama in Australia. The discussion will delve into the development process from genesis to production, and how to find and make a story that will work both for the local network and for the international market.
Helen will draw on her breadth of experience as a producer including her latest Australian 6 part mini series Devil’s Playground, tele-feature Underground following Assange’s early life and Emmy-nominated eight-part drama series The Slap (2011).
Stay afterward for a slice of pizza on us and a drink.
Tuesday 25 February, drinks 7pm, talk 7:30-8:30pm, The Classic, 321 Queen St.
NZ-born Helen Bowden is a principal of Matchbox Pictures and founding partner.
