Stranger - Geraldine Quinn

Media Release: For immediate Release

“Simultaneously poignant and beautiful.” Theatre PressTouching and tender. Chortle (UK)

A visitor. A message. And one minor glitch…

Stranger is a unique modern rise-and-fall rock cabaret from multi award winning cabaret star, Geraldine Quinn. Part Ziggy Stardust zeitgeist, part Icarus and part Sasha Fierce, Quinn gets her guitar-string-stained sticky fingers into her own version of the rock-myth of the ‘other’ creature.

As the Stranger, Quinn arrives with one purpose. Then things go awry…Stranger is the latest in a string of well-received, award-nominated/-winning productions: Shut Up & Sing (2010), You’re the Voice: Songs for the Ordinary by an Anthemaniac (2011) and The Last Gig in Melbourne (2011).

These productions have garnered 11 award nominations and three wins. In Stranger, Quinn again sheds her skin, inviting you into a rock-orchestral-electro tale of hubris, belonging, hope, arrogance – and Quinn’s trademark costumes and and ear-worm songwriting.

You will not see another cabaret like this.

Part musical theatre, part rock eisteddfod, part poignant social reaction and lots of sass - you’re missing out if you don’t pay Quinn a visit.

“Crikey, Quinn is a superb songstress and a brilliant actress – she enthrals her audience from start to finish.” Heckler.com.au
