Superstars attend Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon
VALERIE ADAMS AND JONAH LOMU TO ATTEND ST HELIERS SANITARIUM WEET-BIX KIDS TRYATHLON
Adams and Lomu join ambassadors Mahe Drysdale and Tom Abercrombie
Weet-Bix kids are in for a treat with shot put superstar Valerie Adams and rugby legend and TRYathlon ambassador Jonah Lomu attending the St Heliers Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon on Sunday 16 February, 2014.
But that’s not all. The shot put phenomenon and two-time Olympic gold medallist Valerie Adams and rugby legend Jonah Lomu will be joined by five-time world single-scull champion Mahe Drysdale and three-time NBL champion Tom Abercrombie.
The St Heliers event will be held at Vellenoweth Green on 16 February, 2014 with entries now open for children aged between 7-15-years.
Pierre van Heerden, General Manager for Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing Company is thrilled so many sporting stars will be at the St Heliers TRYathlon.
“The St Heliers event tends to be our largest TRYathlon of the series, and it’s fantastic so many big sporting names will be present to cheer the kids on.
“It’s a great feeling to have these four Kiwi sporting stars supporting this event”, he says.
The events, which have become a rite of passage for New Zealand children, inspire children to get active and have fun with friends. Children of all abilities can compete in the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon and everyone who participates crosses the line as a winner and receives a medal.
Every child who participates in a Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon receives a race pack, a race T-shirt, a swim cap for all swimmers, a certificate and a medal.
Breakfast is also available to all kids participating so they can fuel up on Weet-Bix before the event.
Entry numbers for the St Heliers Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon are limited, so schools and individuals who want to be involved should get in quick to secure their place. Kids can enter as individuals or in a team of two.
Registrations for this event and nominations for Weet-Bix Foundation can be completed online at http://tryathlon.weetbix.co.nz/ or phone 09 531 5080.
The deadline for registrations is 12 February, 2014 at 11:59pm.
