The ‘I’ Test
The ‘I’
Test
I see everything so clearly now.
Allow your perspective to be shattered. We create a world of ice, sweat and tears… then let it melt to nothing. Everything in this show could be wrong.
Muted Crane Productions presents The ‘I’ Test, a new dance theatre work exploring the idea of perspective gained… like every new lens prescription, each experience clarifies our sight.
The work reveals five dancers weaving threads of raw physicality through a fabric of original sound and spatial design. Stacked ice panels sculpt the space, hovering over naked flame. Melting, abandoned, washed clean. You will be taken through a constant flux of questioning and absorption. Be a sponge.
“smashing the ice is a really satisfying and forceful moment in the work, when it hits the ground it totally changes the feel of the space” - Emma Coppersmith
Anna Flaherty, Danielle Lindsay and Emma Coppersmith of Muted Crane Production and are fresh off the back of projects with Java Dance Company, Kowhiti Dance Festival, Rifleman Productions, Bipeds Productions and The World of WearableArt Awards. Joining them for the work are dancer James Wasmer (courtesy of the New Zealand School of Dance), sound designer Rowan Pierce (The Glass Vaults), and spatial designer Rose McKie (The ImpoSTAR).
