Three Sleeps 'til The National!

+ New Single Released Monday Feb 3rd

'I Need My Girl' is the new single released on Monday via iTunes - with a B-side 'Learning', a cover of a Perfume Genius song.

On their website http://americanmary.com/ineedmygirl/ the band have asked to hear fans' covers of 'I Need My Girl'. They’ll pick the best and highlight them on their website. Then, on February 14th they’ll pick their favourite and the performer will win a $500 AMEX gift card to take their sweetest out for a special Valentine’s Day celebration. Nawwwhhh - always knew they were romantics!

The National play Vector Arena next week Tuesday Feb 4th
Tickets from Ticketmaster.
with special guest Luluc
Originally from Australia but now based in Brooklyn, Luluc are making their New Zealand debut at this show.

Their minimalist 2008 debut, Dear Hamlyn, achieved a cult following among music lovers as well as legendary and current figures in music. Peter Blackstock (founder/editor No Depression) wrote: ‘Dear Hamlyn is the most beautiful record I have heard in 10 years’. Their pair's website says they've just mastered their second album -Passerby, which was produced with The National's Aaron Dessner, and recorded with Aaron and his friends (members of Sufjan Stevens, Beirut and Bon Iver) in his Brooklyn garage. You can get at taste of Luluc's sound here and catch them live onstage at 7.45 pm.

Mistaken For Strangers documentary screenings and Q&A with Matt Berninger are probably sold out by the time you read this - but are at Event Cinemas on Queen St Auckland at 7pm & 7.30pm on Monday February 3.
