MTG Late - A Little Opera
Following on from the success of its first MTG Late held in November, MTG Hawke’s Bay will be holding its second MTG Late on Friday 7 February from 6.30 - 8.30pm.
MTG’s February Late features the talented young people of Festival Opera’s youth initiative Project Prima Volta, performing their contemporary adaptation of The Marriage of Figaro to the public for the first time.
Project Prima Volta is a ten day creative residency for Hawke’s Bay young people, promoting social inclusion through music. Their new fifteen minute musical drama retells the story of The Marriage of Figaro in ‘plain speak’. This unique and intimate performance will be supported by cast members of Festival Opera’s The Marriage of Figaro.
Spend an evening at MTG – wander the galleries and experience a unique operatic performance in MTG’s foyer as the sun goes down.
