"This was an evening to be proud of as these young comedians who have shown that the high quality of our up-and-coming comedy talent is not to be ignored!" - [2013 Billy T Jams] Keeping Up With NZ
Hosted by 2012 Billy T Award recipient Guy Williams, the night is set to be a hilarious taster of the hottest up-and-coming comedians on the NZ scene. The nominees set to grace the Rangatira stage are; Tim Batt, Brendon Green, Jamaine Ross, Guy Montgomery, and Stephen Witt.
Rounding out the night will be none other than our 2013 Billy T Award winner Rose Matafeo whose alternative comedy style is being showcased on Jono & Ben at Ten.
Billy T James changed the face of comedy in this country, forging a hugely successful career out of making people laugh. To celebrate his memory and achievements, the New Zealand Comedy Trust created the annual Billy T Award to support up-and-coming comedians with the outstanding potential to take their comedy career to the next level.
The nominees for the 2014 Billy T Award were selected on their proven comedic ability; talent; dedication; current form and potential, and will be judged on all aspects of their 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival show. Final performances and judging will take place at Last Laughs, on Sunday 18 May 2014.
