There are only weeks to go until Summer Concert Tour 2014 so get your hat and sunscreen ready and get in quick because
tickets are selling fast!
Iconic American bands Lynyrd Skynyrd and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, British group 10cc plus an up-incoming kiwi
support act will rock Taupo on Waitangi Weekend Saturday 8th February, Matakana the following day on Sunday 9th February
and Queenstown on Saturday 15th February.
Opening these outdoor afternoon concerts are NZ singer songwriters Ellie De Lautour Redmond who will perform in Taupo,
Loulou in Matakana and Jody Direen who will play the Queenstown show.
LYNYRD SKYNYRD are famous for their driving live show and classic anthem’s like Sweet Home Alabama, Free Bird, Saturday
Night Special and Simple Man. This will be their first ever NZ tour – proving that good things do indeed come to those
who wait!
MICKEY THOMAS is the soulful voice of STARSHIP (formerly Jefferson Starship) – the group that gave us hits like We Built
This City, Sara, Fooled Around And Fell In Love and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now (from the movie Mannequin).
English art rock group 10cc have a huge catalogue of hits such as Dreadlock Holiday, The Things We Do For Love, I’m Not
In Love, Art For Art’s Sake, Rubber Bullets, Cry, I’m Mandy Fly Me and Donna.
ELLIE DE LAUTOUR REDMOND is a student at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College and the winner of the Regional People’s Choice Award at
2013 Rockquest. Her voice and song writing have drawn comparisons with Bic Runga and Taylor Swift.
LOULOU hails from Taihape but currently resides in Matakana where she writes and sings her own brand of pop/folk/indie
music.
JODY DIREEN is a leading country music singer who has achieved chart and award success in NZ. Managed by US based
company Bear Grylls Ventures, Jody performs internationally but currently resides in Wanaka.

Sunday 9 February – Matakana Country Park, Matakana, NORTH AUCKLAND
Saturday 15 February - Gibbston Valley Winery, QUEENSTOWN

Times (subject to change): Gates open 11am, support band, 10cc start at 1 pm, Starship at 3pm, Lynyrd Skynyrd at 5pm.
Refreshments: A wide range of quality food, beer, cider and award winning Gibbston Valley wines are available at each
event but concert-goers can also bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages. FREE water is available at all
venues.
Transport Matakana: Buses $30 return from Britomart, Albany or Orewa and with a gold coin donation from Warkworth & Omaha.
Transport Queenstown: Buses from O’Connell’s Mall in Camp St Queenstown, Frankton Bus Shelter.
