Haier Pulse Look Forward to Exciting Weekend in Taranaki
Media Release
22 January 2014
Haier Pulse fans will get the chance to meet their favourite Haier Pulse players at a free BBQ on Sunday 2 February, after the pre-season game against the Magic.
This is a great opportunity for fans, young and old, to mix and mingle with players such as Irene van Dyk, Katrina Grant, Joline Henry, Millie Lees and Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit fresh from beating Jamaica and England on their Northern Tour, as well as Silver Ferns squad member Katarina Cooper.
Netball Taranaki has organised a circuit of fun netball activities and is providing a unique opportunity to try out a new netball game designed for our youngest players. The games will feature Pulse players testing their skills against netballers of all ages.
Places are limited so Netball Taranaki has designed a competition which is open to everyone. All you have to do is click on www.netballtaranaki.org.nz and follow the link to name six players from the Haier Pulse 2014 ANZ Championship squad.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to grab autographs and photographs with the players and Pulse coach Robyn Broughton at the end of the afternoon’s activities.
New Haier Pulse signing Elias Shadrock is excited about the trip to Taranaki to play against her former team.
“I’m not nervous about meeting the Magic in New Plymouth, I’m very excited. It’s exciting coming up against your old team. There’s always that rivalry when you leave one team, it’s a team you just can’t lose to because you’ve left,” she explained.
The Haier Pulse will face the Magic away in round 6 (Monday 7 April, 7.40pm) in Hamilton and then again at Te Rauparaha Arena, the home of the Haier Pulse, in round 10 (Monday 5 May, 7.40pm).
“All the Pulse girls are excited about it.”
“It’ll be interesting playing in different colours and that will probably get me. I quite like the yellow dress, it’s very bright, I’m quite dark skinned as well, so it’s very out there.”
The weekend’s pre-season games will be made up of 6 quarters, with centre pass at 4.20pm (Saturday) and 10.30am (Sunday). Tickets cost $17 for adults and $7 for children* (2-12 years) and cover general admission for both games.
*Children free if 2 years and under and sit on parent/guardian's lap (No ticket required). Above prices exclude booking fees.
Tickets are on sale from Ticketmaster
