COOLWAVE - “So Sad”
Single released January 24th 2014 through MUZAI Records
Having released his début EP back in 2013, UK artist Jack Shea a.k.a Coolwave returns to the forefront with his latest series of works – a pair of unabashed, sixties infused pop melodies that make up So Sad, released January 24th through MUZAI Records.
A follow up of sorts to the Summer's Here! EP, which caught the attentions of New Zealand music websites such as Cheese on Toast and Undertheradar.co.nz, in part due to it's overt “kiwi-jangle” sound, So Sad was penned during the later half of 2013 – the titular A-Side a sombre ballad that was briefly highlighted on the last EP (“Summer Moon”) and the bubblegum-surfer-pop B-Side, “Girl From Blackpool.”
Once again teaming up with producer Serge Saint Rose, So Sad marks a collaborative effort with Daniel Alexander Blackball (The Attic), creating an original piece of single artwork and further helping push Shea as one of the more understated artists on MUZAI... and it's strongest musical link to the United Kingdom so far.
So Sad is available through http://muzai.bandcamp.com from January 24th.
