The Blue Oyster Art Project Space is pleased to present a major new work by Zac Langdon-Pole entitled [sic].
Langdon-Pole’s work frequently traces the relationships between the unseen or unknown and the concrete or tautological.
His exhibitions often combine close and careful attention with dramatically constructed scenes, to reveal meeting points
of material, history, fiction and narrative.
The Latin adverbsic, literally meaning, “thus” or in full,sic erat scriptum, “thus it was written”, is inserted immediately after a quoted word, phrase or larger text, to indicate that the
quotation has been transcribed exactly as found in the original source, complete with any erroneous, archaic or other
nonstandard forms of presentation.
Langdon-Pole’s [sic] has involved the removal of all of the lights, fixtures and other light generating devices from the household of an
unknown writer. These objects have then been reinstalled in the gallery both to illuminate the space of the exhibition
and to provide the knowledge that somewhere there is a writer’s house with no lights.
Zac Langdon-Pole (b.1988) graduated with a BFA (Hons) from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2010.
