Put the summer into your Sunday: Ingham Lazy Sundays
Ingham Lazy Sundays is just the thing to get you outdoors and put summer into your Sunday, every Sunday, with a series
of free live music gigs running in Christchurch’s Botanic Gardens from 5 January to 23 February.
Relax and while away the afternoon listening to live performances from top musicians with friends or family in the
Botanic Gardens’ beautiful Archery Lawn from 3pm–4.30pm – and it’s all free.
The line-up of artists includes Delaney Davidson, Lindon Puffin and Matt Langley, The Shot Band with Katie Thompson, Jed & Hera, Terrible Sons, Aasha Will & Cullen, The Christchurch Pops Choir, The Ranchsliders with Al Hunter, Paul Ubana Jones and Mundi.
“Ingham Lazy Sundays has one of the most diverse set-lists that you’ll find in this city, with performers from Iceland
and the UK as well as home-grown Christchurchtalent,” says Christchurch City Council Events Production Team Manager

5 January – Delaney Davidson
First up is wandering minstrel Delaney Davidson. Part new world and part old world, the drummer, singer, guitarist and
sometimes harmonica player will showcase his unique style – too loud for folk and too quiet for rock – and his sense of
humour.
12 January – Lindon Puffin & Matt Langley
Ingham Lazy Sundays brings you critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter Lindon Puffin and award-winning Matt Langley in an
intimate acoustic concert, bringing together a dream combination for lovers of folk and alt-country music.
19 January – The Shot Band with Katie Thompson
Week three sees New Zealand’s own country superstar Katie Thompson teaming up with The Shot Band again to harness the
spirit of Johnny Cash with the swagger of Keith Richards. Get ready for a stand-up, stand-out show.
26 January – Jed & Hera
The musical duo Jed & Hera return to offer their cool, Celtic chemistry onstage while harking back to deep Icelandic roots. Described as
‘Street Folk’, Jed & Hera have been creating some of Christchurch’s best music, and are definitely not to be missed!
2 February – Terrible Sons & Aasha, Will & Cullen
Leading off in February Ingham Lazy Sundays brings you a local Christchurch double act bonanza – starting with fresh
local band Aasha, Will & Cullen, showing why they were finalists in Rockquest 2013 and recent openers for Fly My Pretties. They will be opening
for husband and wife duo, L.A. Mitchell and Matt Barus, performing as The Terrible Sons.
9 February – The Christchurch Pops Choir
Ingham Lazy Sundays brings big stage presence with the ever-popular Christchurch Pops Choir. With superb talent dosed
with fun and warmth, whether performing their beautiful rendition of Dave Dobbyn’s Welcome Home, or something more traditional, their joy and vitality will inspire you.
16 January – The Ranchsliders and special guest Al Hunter
Heading towards the tail end of the season, relax with The Ranchsliders and their eclectic mix of blues, roots and
country music. Settle in for a foot-tapping treat as they play with special guest Al Hunter, icon of the country music
scene, and one of New Zealand music’s best-kept secrets.
23 February – Paul Ubana Jones & Mundi
Ingham Lazy Sundays ends in style with an extended finale show not to be missed! Mundi, with their array of instruments,
followed by the very popular Paul Ubana Jones, will take you on a journey like no other. Soulful and distinctive: the
perfect end to the season.
