(INDIANAPOLIS) – Upcoming Twentieth Century Fox release “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” has been recognized with the Truly Moving Picture Award by nonprofit arts organization Heartland Truly Moving Pictures.
“Our jury found ‘The Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ to be clever, poignant and surprisingly believable,” said Tim Irwin, Heartland’s artistic director. “Filled with stunning and innovative visuals, ‘Mitty’ pushes the viewer to live in the moment.”
Ben Stiller directs and stars in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” James Thurber’s classic story of a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.
Select theatrically-released films that offer more than mere entertainment are honored with the Truly Moving Picture Award: these films inspire, educate and engage audiences and filmmakers alike. Heartland bestows the Truly Moving Picture Award to approximately 15-20 films a year that impact their targeted audiences in a meaningful way. Submissions are received directly from studios and producers for consideration.
“The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” opens in theaters nationwide on December 25. Learn more about the film atWalterMitty.com.
