The Daytime Concert Series presented by Operatunity is proud to announce its 2014 season of variety concerts.

Operatunity is owned by husband and wife singers Susan Boland and John Cameron and in its 13 years has built up an
enviable reputation for presenting high quality professional concerts throughout New Zealand – including special music
events outside of the Daytime Concert Series, including recently, an opera gala concert inside the Waitomo Caves!

One of the major aims of the company is to provide work for New Zealand artists both established and up and coming in
accessible variety concerts in eight national tours annually.
"We are a country who has a proud tradition in music and per capita have one of the highest concentrations of people involved in music, choirs and attending concerts, as well as numerous singers enjoying busy professional
careers both in New Zealand and internationally" Says Susan Boland Managing Director."This comes as a big surprise to many people as we have such an emphasis on sport both in profile and funding and there
is little funding for the arts. It has a lot to do with the can-do attitude we have where if we are told we can't do it,
we do it anyway."
This attitude also accounts for the success of Operatunity, all the more impressive, as with no arts funding the company
has been built with hard work and innovation to be the busiest touring company in New Zealand with 210 concerts per year
as well as one of the largest providers of employment for New Zealand artists.
With over 50 people employed by Operatunity, both part time and full time, annually this company is an arts
entrepreneurial success story.
