Auckland Cricket: McIntosh joins Aces for trip to Napier
McIntosh joins Aces for trip to Napier
Opener Tim McIntosh is the only change to the Auckland Aces team to travel to Napier to take on the Central Stags in Round 4 of the Plunket Shield.
McIntosh comes in to replace the injured Anaru Kitchen who fractured a finger during the Aces innings on Saturday.
The match in Napier is an instant re-match of the previous round where the weather in Auckland played the biggest role in a first innings draw.
With the two sides occupying the bottom two spots on the Plunket Shield ladder there will be plenty of incentive for both to get maximum points from the game, although that's not something that's occupying the Aces minds according to skipper Gareth Hopkins.
"It's just another game of cricket and we've got to go out there and do our best to win it. There's definitely room for improvement but there's no need for panic stations just yet as there's a long way to go in the competition."
A team will be named from the following twelve players:
Gareth Hopkins (Captain) (Parnell)
Dean
Bartlett (Ellerslie)
Michael Bates (Suburbs New
Lynn)
Craig Cachopa (Takapuna)
Colin de Grandhomme
(Howick Pakuranga)
Martin Guptill (Suburbs New
Lynn)
Bruce Martin (Parnell)
Mitchell McClenaghan
(Howick Pakuranga)
Tim McIntosh (Parnell)
Colin Munro
(Howick Pakuranga)
Matt Quinn (Cornwall)
Jeet Raval
(Suburbs New
