NZ Film meets NZ Wine
As a long-time supporter of the New Zealand arts, Villa
Maria has signed on as a sponsor to the Rialto Channel New
Zealand Film Awards 2013(known as The Moas).
Villa Maria’s name is synonymous with award winning quality, so it is fitting the winey sponsor the NZ Film Awards with naming rights on the Best Actor and Best Actress Awards.
Earlier in the year Villa Maria tried their hand at a match of NZ wine and NZ film, collaborating with kiwi film and time lapse specialist Joseph Michael (with prior involvement in The Hobbit & Avatar) to capture drama of the grape kind. The result was a breathtaking 3 minute clip showcasing the beauty of NZ’s top wine regions intermingled with dialogue on the winery’s recipe for award-winning success.
Villa Maria Company Brands Manager Emily Camblin commented on the sponsorship: “The NZ Film Awards has everything we seek with our partnership opportunities; we saw it as a great way to support others who show determination and innovation. We feel that the NZ film industry is similar to wine in that it exemplifies what NZ has to offer in terms of passion, talent and vision, she said.”
Nominees for the awards have been announced with winners crowned at the awards evening at Shed 10, Queens Wharf on Tuesday 10 December.
Villa Maria has four tickets to give away to the sold out event. Just visit Villa Maria’s facebook page and vote for who you think will win Best Actor and Best Actress, and what wine they would most likely drink.
