New EP From The Shakedown
Rapidly rising Wellington/Kapiti band The Shakedown are releasing their eagerly awaited E.P Next Movement on November 29 and are appearing on national TV to launch it. The Shakedown has also announced a national summer tour to celebrate.
Gathering together some of Wellington’s best young musicians, The Shakedown blend rap, funk and hip-hop funk with doses of ska, rocksteady, dancehall and every other pungent flavour of reggae resulting in a fresh new blend of street sounds and party music.
The Shakedown is appearing on TV One’s Good Morning Show on November 29 and again on Seven Sharp on December 6.
Their performances so far have garnered much critical acclaim.
“For me in these modern times, honesty reigns supreme and these guys are royalty. Long live The Shakedown!” – Warren Maxwell (Trinity Roots, Little Bushmen, King Street Live)
After months of gigging, writing and endless hours of hard work culminating in a couple of weeks of recording sessions with produce Benny Tones and recording engineer Lee Prebble, The Shakedown have created their debut EP Next Movement, due for release on November 29.
The Shakedown has also worked with Wellington pop artist Xoe Hall to design a unique visual experience to compliment their sound.
To celebrate the release, The Shakedown will tour around the country this summer with a not to be missed show coming to a town near you! You can keep up to date with their movements at www.facebook.com/theshakedownNZ
