The song holds off Eminem's 'The Monster,' featuring Rihanna, at No. 2, for a second week, but the gap between them is
narrowing. Plus, Pitbull and Ke$ha reach the top 10 with 'Timber'
Lorde's "Royals" leads the Billboard Hot 100 for an eighth week, keeping Eminem's "The Monster," featuring Rihanna, at
bay at No. 2 for a second frame. The latter song is closing in on the summit, however, threatening to take over at No. 1
perhaps as soon as next week. Meanwhile, Pitbull and Ke$ha branch out into the top 10 with their own team-up, "Timber."
Let's get into all the numbers, as we do each Wednesday.
"Royals" crowns the Radio Songs chart for a fifth week with 160 million audience impressions (down 5%), according to
Nielsen BDS. It drops 1-2 on the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart, after six weeks in charge, with 2.3
million on-demand U.S. streams, according to BDS (down 2%). It rebounds to its No. 2 peak on the overall Streaming Songs
chart (7.1 million U.S. streams, down 2%) and slips 2-3 on the Digital Songs chart (158,000 downloads sold, down 5%,
according to Nielsen SoundScan), which it led for five weeks.
"Royals" commands Hot Rock Songs for a 12th week and reaches the top 10 (11-10) on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart.
