The Haier Pulse will provide the
highest number of players to the Silver Ferns squad
travelling to the UK in January, with five of the 12 squad
members set to line up for Robyn Broughton’s team
following the test matches against England and
Jamaica.
The Pulse begin their pre-season training at the end of November, when the majority of the squad get together at the ASB Sports Centre for the annual pre-season training camp.
Camilla Lees, who has recently returned from suffering an injury to her foot, will join fellow Silver Ferns Katrina Grant, Joline Henry, Te Huinga Reo Selby-Rickit and Irene van Dyk.
Lees missed out on the recent Constellation Cup series and test matches against the Malawi Queens, with her injury forcing her to watch from the stands. Pulse fans will be delighted to see her return to the court ahead of the 2014 ANZ Netball Championship.
The selected players will take a month’s break from Pulse pre-season preparations to fly out with the rest of the Silver Ferns in the New Year. They will then rejoin their team-mates at the beginning of February to complete the final stages of their pre-season training. The Haier Pulse open their campaign against the Adelaide Thunderbirds at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua, the home of the Haier Pulse, on Sunday 3 March.
