Time saving tips for eating well during the Christmas shopping rush
Feeling rushed off your feet, head spinning, demands of the Christmas season playing on your mind? Christmas – the lead up can be stressful even for the most organised of us. If only there was more time to get everything done then maybe we’d all get that much deserved ‘me time’ too.
Time is also one of the biggest challenges people face when trying to eat well, according to a NESCAFÉ Greenblend survey of NZ dietitians.
When under pressure our best intentions can be pushed aside by other demands, but there are some simple things we can all do to make it easier and remove some of the stress.
As part of the NESCAFÉ Greenblend survey, dietitians shared some tips that will save you time and boost the healthiness of your day.
1. Make a list – like
having a Christmas shopping list, a grocery list will help
you avoid unnecessary purchases, saving you both time and
money
2. Have healthy snacks handy in your handbag –
nuts, dried fruit, veggie sticks. Keep your energy levels up
while at the mall and get important nutrients
too
3. Throw together a salad with your summer favourites
– aim for colour and variety e.g. strawberries, asparagus,
spinach, sweetcorn, or tomato
Follow this advice and when the Christmas shopping is done, take a moment for yourself – you deserve it! Why not enjoy an iced NESCAFÉ Greenblend coffee – it’s a tasty and refreshing way to enjoy naturally delicious green coffee beans and trim milk.
To make:
• 1tsp NESCAFÉ
Greenblend
• 250mL trim milk
• ice
cubes
• small scoop of vanilla ice cream
(optional)
• mix in a tall glass and enjoy
NESCAFÉ Greenblend is made from a delicious blend of natural green & roasted coffee beans. Also found in healthy fruits and vegetables, natural green and roasted coffee beans contain natural polyphenols. Polyphenols are dietary compounds that contribute to taste and colour”
