Extra buses running for tonight’s fireworks display

Extra buses will be running tonight (Tuesday) to transport people to and from the annual Guy Fawkes fireworks display at New Brighton.

The display, at the New Brighton pier, will begin at 9pm.

The additional buses will be running on all routes to New Brighton. Passengers will be delivered to and picked up from the intersection of Oram Ave and Beresford St.

The buses to New Brighton will depart from:
• Central Station – Route 5 (Hornby/New Brighton) and Route 40 (Middleton/Wainoni) every 10 minutes from 7pm
• The Palms – Metrostar and Route 60 (Hillmorton/Parklands) every 15 minutes from 7pm
• Eastgate Shopping Centre – Route 5 (Hornby/New Brighton) and Route 40 (Middleton/Wainoni) from 6pm
• Westfield Riccarton – Metrostar and Route 5 (Hornby/New Brighton) every 15 minutes from 6pm
• The Hub Hornby – Metrostar and Route 5 (Hornby/New Brighton) every 15 minutes from 6pm
• Merivale – Metrostar every 15 minutes from 6pm

Standard bus fares will apply:
Metrocard - Adults $2.50, Children $1.25
Cash - Adults $3.50, Children $1.80.
