Nelly Announces First NZ Show this December

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  24 Oct 2013

FLAVA 95.8 FM & Able Touring

Proudly Presents

NELLY

M.O. TOUR 2013

Able Touring is excited to announce American hip-hop superstar NELLY is hitting our shores this December for his first time in the land of the long white cloud.  Performing just one show at Auckland’s Logan Campbell Centre on Wed 10th December, Nelly will be joined by locals Rickey Okay, Giantkilla and Dirty Sesh.  Tickets are on sale Thursday 7th November 2013.

A savvy pop-rapper with crossover appeal, Nelly debuted in 2000 with "Country Grammar (Hot...)," yet he was no one-hit wonder, consistently returning to the pop charts with smash hits like "Hot in Herre," "Grillz," and "Dilemma".  His universality set him apart from all of the prevailing rap styles of his time.  He wasn't from the East or West Coast and his rapping style, which was both country and urban at the same time, combined a Southern drawl with Mid-western twang.  Plus, Nelly never shied away from a pop-rap approach, embracing a sing-a-long vocal style that made his hooks catchier than most.  As a result, Nelly became a rapper capable of crossing practically all boundaries.  His first hit, "Country Grammar (Hot...)," became a nationwide summer anthem in 2000, spawning the hit singles "E.I.," "Ride wit Me," and "Batter Up."

In the wake of Nelly's remarkable breakthrough success, he recorded a group album with the St. Lunatics, Free City (2001); completed his second album, Nellyville (2002), following with releases Derrty Versions (2003), Sweat and Suit (2004), Sweatsuit (2005), Brass Knuckles (2008) and the star-studded 5.0 (2010) that featured the singles "Just a Dream" and "Move That Body" featuring Akon and T-Pain.  His 2013 effort M.O. featured numerous tracks with Pharrell plus Nicki Minaj and Nelly Furtado, further cementing Nelly's reputation as one of hip-hop’s more prolific recording artists.
Nelly will be this year’s biggest hip-hop show.  Don’t miss your chance to see this superstar who will be performing all of his hits in this energy-packed, must-see live show.  With tickets from just $65  (plus booking fees) - don’t miss out!  It’s gonna be wild!
