Kiwis Sleeve to Feature New Sponsor

PRESS RELEASE

Kiwis Sleeve to Feature New Sponsor

Auckland, New Zealand, October 21, 2013 - The Kiwis have received another shot in the arm with the naming of a new sleeve sponsor for their Rugby League World Cup campaign. Smokefree NZ and New Zealand Rugby League have reached an agreement which will see the Smokefree logo on the sleeve of the Kiwis jersey for the duration of tournament. NZRL CEO Phil Holden says he is delighted with the arrangement.

“This is an extension of a long term and extremely valued relationship between the Health Promotion Agency and New Zealand Rugby League. With our shared aim of inspiring New Zealander’s to lead better lives, we see them as a natural partner for our game.

“Securing another sponsor also sends a really positive message to our players about the support there is for them back home, and we can’t thank the HPA enough for actively contributing in this way.”

Health Promotion Agency General Manager Tane Cassidy also sees this as a win-win for his organisation saying “We are really pleased to be able to extend our partnership with the New Zealand Rugby League. These games will reach a large viewing audience here, which will enable us to spread our message widely.
“The Kiwis are role models to many young New Zealanders, and we hope that when they see the Kiwis are proudly Smokefree, they will choose to be as well. We extend our best wishes to the Kiwis as they compete to retain the World Cup and wish them every success in the tournament.”
