Something for everyone in latest NZ On Air funding

Media Release

17 October 2013

Our people and our stories – something for everyone in latest NZ On Air funding

Audiences of every kind are catered for in the latest funding decisions from NZ On Air.
NZ On Air is delighted to support a new series for TV3, The Festival, which will take us inside the most important festivals and celebrations of our ethnic communities. This new series joins a stable of programmes made for special interest audiences available on television and then online.

Young Pacific people will be treated to the return of popular youth programme Fresh (TV2), and wider audiences can enjoy the gastronomic journey of the Pacific cultures with a second series of Real Pasifik (TV One). Neighbourhood will return to TV One to introduce more ethnic communities to their neighbours

Young New Zealanders will be happy to see a third series of Both Worlds return to TV3, and people with disabilities and their families will enjoy a record 10th year of the popular Attitude (TV One).

For those politically-inclined, Back Benches returns on Prime with politics from the pub. Spiritual favourite Praise Be returns to TV One with Sunday morning hymns.

For the rural community, Rural Delivery 2014 and the Young Farmer Contest 2014 have also been supported again.

“We know how important it is to support these programmes for special interest audiences, whose needs are rarely met by mainstream media without NZ On Air funding,” said Jane Wrightson, CEO of NZ On Air.
