City Choir Dunedin concert marks 150 years
City Choir Dunedin celebrates its 150th anniversary this year with a massive choir and orchestral concert on Sunday, October 27, at Dunedin Town Hall, starting at 5.30pm.
The “Choral Masterpieces” concert is the culmination of our 150th Anniversary weekend, the Labour Day long weekend, October 26-27.
With the Southern Sinfonia and soloists Helen Medlyn and Martin Snell, the choir will sing excerpts from many of the best loved pieces in the choral repertoire, including Bach's Christmas Oratorio; Bizet Carmen; Elgar Dream of Gerontius; Fauré Requiem; Handel Messiah; Haydn Creation; Mendelssohn Elijah; Mozart Requiem and others.
