Sarah Ridsdale from Palmerston North has won this year’s Big Idea Creativity & Culture Award, at Inspiring Stories Film Awards.

Inspiring Stories creativity & culture award, proudly supported by The Big Idea. We hear from Sarah and the other finalists in this video interview.
“In the future I’d like to make more movies about positive things that people can do to make a difference in the
environment,” says Sarah.
The finalist works were just as inspiring. Greta Yeoman explores the Christchurch music scene after the earthquake in
her documentary Town Like Here.
Awakening the Rangatahi by Paul Nelson, Ariel Barton and Patsy Burke from Nelson was about engaging the community and inspiring young rangitahi
to tell their stories.
The filmmakers tell us more about their stories in this video below, filmed by Laura Honey at the Inspiring Stories
awards on Friday 4 October 2013 in Wellington. The theme of the competition was ‘Young Kiwis Making a Difference.’
