NZ Masters Games Delivers Big Incentive for Registration

2014 NZ Masters Games Delivers Big Incentive for Registration

Early registration numbers for the 2014 Southern Trust New Zealand Masters Games are tracking at double the total for the same period in 2012 and now with the announcement of a prize holiday package on offer, Games organiser, Vicki Kestila is optimistic that her target of 6000 competitors could be surpassed.

All competitors who register for the Games before 9 February will go in the draw to win a holiday for two in Rarotonga, courtesy of  Nemeschansky and Greive Travel Associates. The prize includes return airfares, five nights at Pacific Resort Rarotonga, courtesy of Pacific Resort Hotel Group and return transfers and breakfast daily.

Vicki Kestila says this new incentive is a very exciting feature for the 2014 Games.

“It’s early days for registration as we are only into week five but already we are seeing very positive trends. The chance to win a holiday in Rarotonga is going to add a real boost to that momentum. Imagine rounding off your Games experience with five days in a tropical paradise!”

2002 set the record for the most number of competitors with 8210, in recent years the numbers have settled around the 6000 mark.

For 2014 some trends remain the same with Netball and Soccer already the front leaders of the most popular team sports followed closely by Twilight 400.

Vicki says that the introduction of four new team sports also has the capacity to grow the numbers coming to Dunedin.

“Rugby Tens, Top Town, Tough Master and Ultimate all offer great team participation and will be very competitive and thrilling to watch.”

Early registrations have also included participants from Australia, USA, UK, Canada and New Caledonia.
