The Insatiable Moon screens for Mental Health Awareness Week
Screening for Mental Health Awareness Week 2013: The Insatiable Moon (2010), a film that proves sometimes magic happens in the most unlikely of places. Aucklander Arthur (Rawiri Paratene) claims to be the second son of God. The rest of the world calls him mad. But he knows who he is, and gets on with the work he needs to do.
Before he’s finished you will have fallen in love, laughed and cried, hoped and almost believed in him.
When Arthur crosses paths with social worker Margaret (Sara Wiseman), he believes he has found the “Queen of Heaven” he has been searching for. Then Margaret finds herself falling for Arthur - causing her to call her own values and sanity into question.
The Insatiable Moon is based on a 2007 novel by Mike Riddell. The author’s wife, Rosemary Riddell, directed the film.
“This is a movie with heart. Go see it instead of one of the usual soulless blockbusters at your multiplex.” - Kate Rogers, TV3
“The Insatiable Moon will make you think, make you talk, make you laugh and – yes – may even make you cry.” - Professor Peter Gilbert
