JULIE LAMB to headline breast cancer fundraiser GREEN FOR THE PINK
Now in it's 5th year, Green For The Pink is an annual fundraiser for Breast Cancer Network New Zealand that also serves as a showcase for up and coming local talent. This year boasts an afternoon of acoustic acts, a movie and live bands to rock the night out.
(Wellington, NZ) September 27, 2013 - Acclaimed artist Julie Lamb is to headline one of Wellington's biggest independently run events, Green For The Pink on Saturday 19th October. Held at The James Cabaret, 5 Hania St, Mt Victoria Wellington, it's an all-ages affair and this year it is split into 3 sections: Acoustic in the Afternoon with acts Kim and Stu, Raven Mavens, 10dd and Maika from 3-5.45pm; a Half Time movie screening of Ever After from 6-7.45pm after which, moshing and dancing like crazy will ensue for Electric in the Evening with The Gentleman Callers, The Julie Lamb Band, Underwire and Monroe. Pre-sales are $20 from Eventfinder.com and Rough Peel Music (Vivian St) or $25 on the door.
Julie Lamb is all class, more sass and hysterical "funnerisms" wrapped in a cherry bomb of rock-tinged blues and with sophomore album Trippin' the Light steadily gaining traction worldwide, there is plenty to smile about. From garnering international airplay (Canada, USA, UK and Europe) to having songs selected for notable compilations (Jack and Jill No 20 and Acid Tapes: Australia, 1st Renaissance: UK, Indie Music Bus Favourites: USA ), she has also won TalentCast Artist of the week in the Netherlands twice and been featured artist of the month on both Rocker's Dive Radio NY and Reverbnation - even the recently released music video for Waterproof won silver medals from the Beat100 A team. Julie Lamb and Trippin' the Light are a winning combination best served live and if mayhem, mischief and laughter appeal to you, book your ticket now.
"If you get your hands on 'Trippin' the Light' you'll understand what my ears took pleasure in and continue to listen to on the daily commute to work" - John Shearer, Muzic.net.nz
"Overall, this is an interesting second album from Lamb which highlights her strong vocals, together with some solid arrangements and interesting combinations of instruments" - Del Thomas, NZ Musician
"Trippin' the Light certainly displays her range of musical talents in a way that people can get a hold of and keep for posterity, in their minds as well as in their sound systems. It's a winner" - Amplifier
