‘A Thousand Hills’ an intimate theatrical epic from Africa to New Zealand.
A true story of survival and friendship, from an African refugee camp to the hills of New Zealand, drenched in African music, myth and memories. This play is based on the 1994 Rwandan experiences of Francois Byamana and New Zealand Red Cross volunteer Bob Askew. Terrifying, brave, laced with humour and bursting with humanity.
‘A theatrical gem.’ NZ HERALD
‘A beautifully realised true story that will both break and warm your heart.’ www.gatherandhunt
‘There are a thousand reasons to see A Thousand Hills.‘ Theatrescenes
‘One of the most exciting theatrical productions of 2011.’ NZ Herald
