Get in Early for $27 million Lotto Powerball Tomorrow
With an epic jackpot Powerball prize of $27 million up for grabs tomorrow, Lotto stores across the country are set to be
busier than ever – so get in early to buy your ticket, says Lotto New Zealand.
Tomorrow’s draw could see the third largest Powerball prize ever won by an individual player. In 2010, a player from
Papakura won $28 million and in April last year Trevor from Te Kauwhata scooped up $26.5 million.
As he commented at the time, “my bank account balance is longer than my phone number.”
As this weekend is a potentially life-changing one for somebody, with one ticket potentially worth a cool $27 million,
the rush at Lotto counters in stores up and down New Zealand is expected to be busier than usual.
“Typically, we find that our customers will buy their tickets on the day of the draw, often late in the afternoon or
early evening, so we recommend people get in early to avoid the rush,” says Corporate Communications Manager Emilia
Mazur.
Lotto New Zealand also took the opportunity to remind customers to play responsibly, and only spend what they can
afford.
“At all times, we encourage our customers to play responsibly – which means being informed, having fun and only spending
within your limits.
“Players do not have to spend a lot if they want to have the dream of winning big.”
If Powerball is not struck this weekend, next week will be a Must Be Won draw, as the maximum threshold for the
Powerball First Division jackpot is $30 million.
