Dates Announced for ‘the Block NZ’ Public Open Homes
TV3 is planning to invite viewers to visit The Block NZ houses, with two public open home events on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October.
Competing teams Alisa and Koan, Pete and Andy, Alice and Caleb, and Loz and Tom will be on site as their houses are inspected, and producers of The Block NZ will be filming the Open Homes which feature in the final episodes of the series.
The 2012 Open Homes were highly successful with thousands of viewers from around the country making the most of the opportunity to meet The Block NZ teams and see the four houses made famous by the hit series. The patience and goodwill of residents, road users and the fans who often queued for long periods of time, was a key factor in making the first Open Homes such a success – able to be enjoyed by thousands of New Zealanders of all ages.
This year, the same event management team is in place, and working with Council and other stakeholders on a comprehensive plan to ensure the 2013 open homes take place with the minimum possible disruption and are again a positive experience for all involved.
After only five episodes, The Block NZ is TV3’s biggest show of 2013 in the core 25-54 demographic, and second only to The X Factor NZ in the 5+ demographic. To date, 1.7 million viewers have tuned into the hit series (5+ cume, episodes 1-5).
The Block NZ is produced by Eyeworks Television for TV3. Foundation partners are Bunnings Warehouse, Kiwibank, Mazda and Wild Bean Cafe.
Full details on the Open Homes will be released closer to the time. Initial information is available at TV3.co.nz/theblocknz.
