Alberton artwork wanted
Wanted – Pictures of one of Auckland’s most loved historic houses for use in a one-off exhibition.
Rendell McIntosh, the Manager of Alberton, is coordinating an exhibition of old and new paintings, photos and drawings to feature in an exhibition showcasing the NZ Historic Places Trust property in Mt Albert as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.
And although an impressive range of artwork has already been sourced, there’s room for more.
“Alberton is one of those iconic Auckland buildings that has been depicted in all sorts of media over the years – from formal photography, through to original artwork and even popular culture,” says Rendell.
“We’d love to hear from anyone who might have an image of Alberton they would be prepared to lend to us for use in our exhibition, ideally by September 30.”
The exhibition will run from October 5 through to October 13 (10.30-4.30pm, Wednesday to Sunday) and is one of this year’s official Auckland Heritage Festival events. Admission will be $10pp; NZHPT members and children free.
People with artwork or other images featuring Alberton that they would like to contribute to the exhibition can email alberton@historic.org.nz
