Celebrated soul singer, performer, songwriter - meet Bella Kalolo!
Bella Kalolo & Band "Time and Space" Tour Sep-Nov 2013
Fresh from touring in the USA with Aaradhna, J Boog and Katchafire, Bella is excited about embarking on a nationwide tour of Aotearoa to towns she has never had the chance to perform in before.
Combining her Samoan, Tongan and Maori (Ngati Porou) heritage, Christchurch born soul singer Bella Kalolo has worked with Kiwi icons such as Dave Dobbyn, Hollie Smith, Don McGlashan, and Nathan Haines among others, and travelled the world with her music, winning accolades at the Glastonbury and City of London festivals, as well as winning Best Female Vocalist at the Pacific Music Awards.
Bella grew up with music around her, winning a scholarship to Paraguay when she was 17, and joining a band there, Dos Tribus, which had Top 10 songs in the South American charts. Returning to New Zealand, she worked in musical theatre, and television, appearing on TV’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’, the lead role in TV2 children’s series, ‘Jandals Away’. She also performed in the immensely popular NZ movie, ‘Sione’s Wedding’, ‘Matariki’ and ‘The Orator’.
Now she celebrates the release of her brand new EP ‘Time and Space’ (release date 20 September). Arts On Tour NZ is proud to tour Bella Kalolo & Band throughout the country during October.

About Arts On Tour New Zealand
Arts On Tour New Zealand (AOTNZ) organises tours of outstanding New Zealand performers to rural and smaller centres in New Zealand. The trust receives funding from Creative New Zealand and liaises with local arts councils, repertory theatres and community groups to bring the best of musical and other talent to country districts. The AOTNZ programme is environmentally sustainable – artists travel to audiences, rather than rural dwellers clocking up kilometres travelling to the big towns. www.aotnz.co.nz
