TEAM Orange Wins Mitre 10 Dream Home
Tuesday 3rd September
In the most nail-biting live final yet, Team Orange has been crowned the winner of Mitre 10 Dream Home 2013!
Now proud owners of a mortgage free, brand new home, Martyn and Sarah Giles said they are overcome with emotion and grateful for the whole experience.
“We just can’t believe it. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us on this journey and we can’t wait to get into our brand new home.”
Team Orange impressed the judges from day one with their dedication to the perfect finish and commitment to creating a bright future for their six children.
“We wanted to make the best possible home for our children to grow up in. Everything was created with them in mind.”
In a surprise twist during tonight’s final, host Simon Barnett announced things would be done a little differently this year, with both teams having to bid on their houses at auction ahead of the winner announcement.
Fortunately Team Orange knew they had their house regardless after securing their house at auction for $375,000.
“We were thankful we’d won the house at auction but also very stressed about our position financially so it was out of this world when Simon announced us as the winners.”
Meanwhile Team Black was also successful in bidding on their house, securing the property for $375,000 with $50,000 from ASB towards their first mortgage.
In addition to their houses, both teams receive a brand new Toyota RAV4, all their house furnishings, money from the DIY challenges and prizes from the room challenges.
Team Black’s Jay and Amanda are grateful for the Mitre 10 Dream Home experience:
“Without Mitre 10 Dream Home, we would never be in the position to own our first home and be given such a kick-start as well as all the wonderful memories and people we’ve met.
Congratulations to the Orange Team – they fully deserve it, and we feel like winners too as we’ve got our own Dream Home.”
