Karma is a wonderful thing

Karma is a wonderful thing

It’s always nice to do something good for good people and on Saturday last that is exactly what Brian and the team at Pak N Save Wanganui did. Once again Pak N Save gave one lucky customer their groceries for free and this month it was Ruth and Les Fowler. Ruth volunteers at St Vincent De Paul and often heads out on shopping trips to the supermarket to help people in the community who need it most. This time it was Ruth’s turn to have someone help her.

Ruth and Les had popped into Pak N Save on Saturday morning to do their weekly shop so had their entire weeks groceries paid for. Karma is a beautiful thing, but the real reason Pak N Save stepped in to pick up the tab was because they have joined Mainstreet Wanganui Inc. in a campaign to reward customers who shop local. Once a month until Christmas Pak N Save will pick a customer at random and they will have their groceries paid for no matter what the cost.

“We want to reward people who buy local,” says Mainstreet Marketing Manager Elise Goodge, “and we are thrilled that Pak N Save shares our philosophy.” The buy local campaign will run until Christmas, you can find out more about all the ways shopping locally strengthens our community by visiting www.mainstreetwanganui.co.nz.
