3 News Makes New Zealand Fashion Week Accessible to All with ‘Virtual Front Row’ Coverage
Every runway show will be exclusively available to view online within hours as part of MediaWorks’ comprehensive
broadcast sponsorship of New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW), which will give Kiwis a ‘virtual front row’ experience.
3 News, George FM and 3News.co.nz/fashion will be the go-to media outlets for fashion followers, with hundreds of hours
of Fashion Week coverage taking viewers behind-the-scenes and onto the catwalk at New Zealand’s biggest fashion event.
3News.co.nz/Fashion is the official NZFW hub for the event, and the centrepiece of MediaWorks’ coverage. Throughout the
week, 3 News will film every runway show, editing the two-camera footage onsite so a full highlights package can be
published online within four hours.
George FM is the radio home of Fashion Week, bringing listeners comprehensive coverage of the most stylish event of the
year. Thane Kirby’s Drive show will be broadcast LIVE from the heart of Fashion Week, capturing the excitement and
glamour of the event. Television coverage includes exclusive daily reports on Firstline, 3 News bulletins at 12pm and
6pm and Nightline, covering everything from Kiwi design stars to emerging talent, with Kate Rodger and others filing
LIVE from the venue.
NZFW 2013 also sees the return of TV3’s daily online fashion review programme, Fashion Front Row, hosted by 3 News
Entertainment Editor Kate Rodger and Metro Magazine Fashion Editor Rebecca Wadey. Fashion Front Row will feature
exclusive runway footage, take viewers behind-the-scenes and into the designer’s workrooms, and feature special guests
from the local and international fashion industry.
3 News’ Kate Rodger says: “Fashion Week is such a guilty pleasure, and an excuse to indulge my passion for fashion under
the guise of a hard day at the office!
"I love the opportunity to flesh out the current trends and speak to those designers and fashion forecasters who gather
for NZFW, all who have a knack of predicting what will dominate the catwalk and our wardrobes in the seasons to come.
“Fashion Front Row was a revelation last year, a real opportunity to get down and dirty and dissect the designer’s
collections in detail, and with guests who really know the industry. There will be all that and more this year.”
TV3 is the official broadcast partner of New Zealand Fashion Week , and TV3 and MediaWorks Radio are both elite partners
of the event. George FM will be the lead radio station, with support from The Edge and MoreFM. Additional television
coverage will screen on FOUR.
