DAVID SAUNDERS (3DS) and STREET CHANT combined Tour, Single
DAVID SAUNDERS (3DS) and STREET CHANT combined NZ
Tour & Single!
After blowing everyone's socks
off a few months back, David Saunders (of
the 3ds) and Street Chant
are returning for a one off New Zealand tour…plus the
release of a brand new single.
At their first and only show, with the Drabb Doo Riffs, the made in heaven combo stormed the opening slot to a packed house. They ripped through a supersonic set of 3ds classics (Hey Suess, Hellzapoppin, Outer Space and more) and threw in an Alpaca Brothers cover to boot. Generally, they devastated the audience in a whirlwind of squealing beautiful thunderous noise. They also kicked out jams and got the party rolling.
So, with a single minded mission in mind, they have decided invite their friends and keep that party rolling.
Back by popular demand for a rare one time only tour, and presented by Cheese on Toast with the Fold…it's
DAVID SAUNDERS (3DS) with backing band STREET CHANT!

In addition to the tour the combo is working on a one off single - a brand new track. This will be released in conjunction with the tour. Prepare to have your brain fried!
The 3ds are one of New Zealand's best loved bands of the early 1990s. They released the bona fide Flying Nun classic albums Hellzappopin' and The Venus Trail. They were known as one of the best live bands in the land. At home they opened for Nirvana and in the US they toured with Pavement, Superchunk and Guided by Voices. The Venus Trail was released in the US on one of the great indie labels, Merge Records. In 2010 the band reformed to play St Jerome's Laneway festival and with Pavement in New Zealand, and were invited to play All Tomorrows Parties in the UK.
When it comes to a live rock show, Street Chant are pretty much the best in the business. In 2010 they released their critically acclaimed debut album Means and since then have played numerous shows including three visits to the US, where they played CMJ, SXSW and toured with The Lemonheads. More recently they have released their free download EP Isthmus of One Thousand Lovers as well as the singles Frail Girls and Sink…look out for their second album Hauora coming soon.
