Fork meets Brewer: 8 course craft beer and food degustation
Fork meets Brewer was a sumptuous eight course beer and food degustation at the Fork & Brewer which was held as part of Wellington’s Choice Beer Week.
It was hosted by Chef Anton Legg and beer writer and F & B director Neil Miller. The pair also designed the menu and the matches.
The aim was to showcase in-house beers, local beers, brewing products used as ingredients, classic pub food and dishes which had sadly fallen out of favour over time. The menu was:

Black
Course 2: Scallop wrapped in prosciutto with black

Neil has
written a “behind the scenes” blog post over at Beer and
Brewer where he explains the thinking behind each dish and
what they were looking to achieve with the beer matches.

A
very different perspective of the same event is provided by
Chris Park from NZ Style Collective.
He carefully blogs and beautifully photographs every course. (http://stylecollective.co.nz/2013/08/12/fork-meets-brewer-8-course-craft-beer-and-fod-degustation/) Chris is not a craft beer nerd so his reactions to each combination are honest and interesting. It is well worth a read.
Diners on the night really enjoyed the experience and Fork & Brewer is already planning a few more special degustations.
